You may see what’s going on in the world and ask, is this it? Well, there are a number of good reasons as to why I think… yes it is.
Mainly, the entire Bible is a massive prophecy over thousands of years of both Jesus, the Son of God and promised Messiah, and also the Endtimes.
My father taught the book of Revelation in Sunday school, and it caught my attention and stayed with me. The Bible not only has Revelation (the last book of the Bible, and most well-known) but the End of Days is also mentioned profusely throughout the Old Testament by the Prophets Daniel, Ezekiel, Joel, Isaiah, Zechariah, and even in the Psalms. Wow! Seriously…. that’s a LOT of prophesying! And for good reason. We need to get this message.
As a journalist, I am always drawn to the Middle East and what’s happening there. And you know what? EVERYTHING is happening there. And it’s been happening for a while.
This is widely agreed to prophecy the Holocaust, (which without question has already occurred) though some say it also could be the expected policies of the antichrist. Jeremiah 30:5-7 says 5 Thus says the Lord: We have heard a voice of trembling and panic, of terror, and not peace. 6 Ask now and see whether a man can give birth to a child? Why then do I see every man with his hands on his loins like a woman in labor? Why are all faces turned pale? 7 Alas for that day will be great, so that none will be like it; it will be the time of Jacob’s ( who was also renamed Israel) trouble, but he will be saved out of it. Moving ahead to verse 10, Therefore, fear not, O my servant Jacob, says the Lord, nor be dismayed, or cast down, O Israel: for behold, I will save you out of a distant land and your posterity from the land of their captivity.
As you read further through the chapter (Jeremiah 30), the last part of verse 24 says, “in the latter days, you will understand this”.
Fulfilled again, in Ezekiel26:24, For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all the countries and bring you into your own land.
It was promised that Israel would be gathered up and brought back from it’s diaspora (scattering) back into their own land. In 1947 the United Nations voted to create the State of Israel in their partition plan. shortly after that, Great Britain gave up their claim on the lands in Israel thus forming the nation of Israel officially in 1948.
It currently is happening as we speak. CBN (the Christian Broadcasting Network) recently reported that a group from Asia that had not lost its Jewish traditions has been brought to Israel to live. The group Ezra International is dedicated to relocated the tribes of Israel back to the promised land. Many Jews from Russia have also been brought back to a land flowing with milk and honey by The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, a program called “On Wings of Eagles”
Another fulfillment: Even the speed in which the nation of Israel was formed is uncanny. As foretold by the Prophet Isaiah in Chapter 66 verse 8 “Who has heard of such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Or shall a nation be brought forth in a moment? For a soon as Zion was in labor, she brought forth her children.”
How about some more fulfilling? Ezekiel 36:30 goes on to say And I will multiply the fruit of the tree and increase of the field, that you may no more suffer the reproach and disgrace of famine among the nations.
What was once a wasted desert is now rich farmland, once the Jews moved back to Israel.
This fulfillment is ongoing for some time: The prophet Zechariah said in Zech. 12:3 “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it”. Clearly the United Nations, the U.S. State Department, and many other international political groups continue to try to work out a Middle East peace agreement, generally against the best interests of Israel.
Not enough fulfillment yet? Okay, here’s some more! Jesus Himself was prophesying takeover of Jerusalem when the Romans in70 A.D, destroyed the temple (also prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 25:2…not one stone will be left upon another) the Luke 21:24 They will fall by the mouth and the edge of the sword and will be led away as captives to and among the nations and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled (completed). The “time of the Gentiles” was finished when the Jews returned to Israel in 1948.
More fulfillment here…in Matthew 24:5 says “For many will come in (on the strength of) My name[appropriating the name which belongs to me], saying I am the Christ and they will lead many astray. That’s been repeatedly fulfilled by creeps like David Koresh and Jim Jones.
And more fulfillment…..Matthew 24:7 says “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in place after place.” Famines are ongoing, and certainly, war is unfortunately pervasive. Earthquakes are on the rise in number and intensity….Science Daily reports that between2010 to 2012 there were 300 earthquakes above a 3.0 magnitude, in 1967 to the year 2000 there were only 21 events of a 3.0magnintude or higher.
Have another spoonful of fulfillment! 2nd Timothy Chapter 3 verses 1-3 (I’ll just pull out a few parts here because it’s quite long) For people will be lovers of self and utterly self-centered, lovers of money…proud and arrogant…They will be abusive, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, and profane….without natural human affection, slanderers…haters of good. We see these sad examples of humanity on the news every night. I remember when I was little, much of the behavior that goes on now was, when I was young, jawdropping.
More fulfillment, and this could have easily referred to me once. Thankfully that’s over. This one seems to very clearly refer to New Age religion….I can say this with authority because I was one until Jesus cleared me up. 2nd Timothy Chapter 3 verses 5-8 For though they hold a form of piety, they they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it. Avoid such people.6 for among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate silly and weak-natured and spiritually dwarfed women, loaded down with the burden of their sins and easily swayed and led away by various evil desires and impulses,7 who will listen to anyone and never arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 As Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses ( Pharoahs magicians)so these men(and women) also oppose the truth.
Fulfillment yet???Isaiah 19 holds particular interest for things happening even as we speak.. Isaiah 19 1-4, 1An oracle concerning Egypt. Behold, the Lord is riding on a swift cloud and comes to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt will tremble at his presence ( would that indicate their economy? I don’t know) and the heart of the Egyptians will melt within them. 2 And I will stir up the Egyptians against Egyptians, and they will fight, every man against his brother and every man against his neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kingdom; 3 and the spirit of the Egyptians within them will be emptied out, and I will confound their plans; and they will consult the idols and the sorcerers, and the mediums and the wizards, 4 and I will give over the Egyptians in the hand of a hard master; and a fierce king will rule over them, says the Lord of hosts.
During the Arab Spring, Hosni Mubarak was thrown out of the Egyptian presidency to be replaced by Mohammed Morsi, and man who is reputed to be a leader in the Muslim Brotherhood and is currently “on trial for giving secrets of defense to foreign countries” and “funding terrorism for militant training to fulfill the goals of the International Organization of the Muslim Brotherhood” as well as charges of involvement of killing of opposition protestors. (source Al Jazeera) He is alos charged with conspiracy to commit terrorist acts. Is Morsi the fierce king? The Merriam Webster online dictionary defines the word fierce as “very violent, and eager to fight or kill” We have yet to see how the trial will end. Currently an interim president is appointed, Adly Mansour, while General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has mentioned he might run for the presidency if the people express an interest. Again, this could be very controversial between conservative and liberal groups.
I continue to watch and pray, as requested by Jesus, Who I love.
