It definitely appears we are watching prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes and a couple of things are really screaming for attention…namely the geopolitical positioning and the pope with his “unity” game.
This is probably really two articles, but taken together, I believe these things are pointing us to His promise. Revelation chapter 21 verse 5: 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
All things new will be pretty nice, and we have a lot to look forward to. There will definitely be some rough stuff before we get there!
First, I want to address the pope’s ideas as of late. Let me be REALLY clear. I LOVE my Catholic friends! I LOVE, LOVE LOVE them! This has nothing to do with hating people, or hurting their feelings. I CARE A LOT about what happens to them as well as those protestants who are falling for this global position, and I’m VERY concerned. Please understand that this is written in the spirit of love and concern. That’s why I’m writing this, just to present it…do what you want with it.
Beginning couple of years back, I read and article that floored me. I couldn’t believe what I was reading. The Lutherans had signed an agreement with the catholic church that said essentially since the catholics had finally decided we are saved by faith (snide comment: how big of them), that there is now no more disagreement between catholics and protestants and we are all united “as one”.
The Disagreement originally began when John Calvin pointed out that in Romans 3 verse 22, “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” (an easier translation for newbies is the New Living Translation:We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ.) This statement is often attributed to Martin Luther who wrote about faith, but see this link:Calvin, Council of Trent . Therefore, it is appalling that the Lutherans themselves has gone so against one of their own founding fathers. By the way, the Methodists (more Calvinistic) also did the same as well, along with Episcopals, Presbyterians, and Anglicans!! Then along came a number of evangelists!!! (mouth dropping open) And a few of them have been people I have recommended as wonderful teachers, but now I am ashamed. And I ‘m confounded at how a person who believes in the word of God could go along so willingly. Here is video the proof of the evangelists : Kenneth Copeland is Catholic?
There is another link which is to be looked at, although I don’t entirely agree with all the things Doug Batchelor says (he hails from the Seventh Day Adventist group), I will not question his expertise in many things Bible: Doug Batchelor comments on Kenneth Copeland and the Pope
(I still learn a lot from these men, yet test these things for myself.) How can a Christian who has read the bible espouse such a thing? These are some big points:
Luke 4:8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.'” That’s Jesus himself folks! No Saints, No “mother of God”, no dead folks who have gone on to their reward.
Matthew 23 verse 9: “And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.” Check out this link from a catholic magazine: Call no man Father (here is a quote explaining that) “Jesus criticized Jewish leaders who love “the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues, and salutations in the market places, and being called ‘rabbi’ by men” (Matt. 23:6–7). His admonition here is a response to the Pharisees’ proud hearts and their grasping after marks of status and prestige. He was using hyperbole (exaggeration to make a point) to show the scribes and Pharisees how sinful and proud they were for not looking humbly to God as the source of all authority and fatherhood and teaching, and instead setting themselves up as the ultimate authorities, father figures, and teachers.” …..um okay, isn’t that what the catholic priests are doing??? I actually agree with what the defense is here, but doesn’t that exactly prove the verse??? Are they blinded among themselves?
Another catholic belief is “Why must we confess our sins (at least the serious ones) to a priest? Why is it not enough to confess them directly to God (Jesus)? First note that Catholics do not tell their sins to a priest “instead of to God,” but to God through a priest, appointed by our Lord as an official stand-in for Christ (alter Christus).”From Priests and confession An alter-Christ??? I find that hard to believe….isn’t that blasphemy?
Here’s why I say that. In the book of Hebrews chapter 10 verse 20 “By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.”(New Living Translation)…we don’t need a priest to access God Hallelujah!!! This confessional behavior actually makes Jesus and His perfect sacrifice of no account. AND IT BREAKS MY HEART! Jesus said it himself in John chapter 14 verse 6: “Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
And folks by the way….1 John Chapter 1 verse 9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Again I want to say this is written in the spirit of LOVE and concern. Why on earth would anyone, especially someone who is expert in the words of God join forces with the catholic church??? Why would the pope be bothered with protestants? I believe this may be why:
Jesus explained to his disciples in Matthew chapter 24 verse 24: “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.” There haven’t been any signs from the pope thus far in the sense of calling down fire from heaven or anything…that would be a really big red flag.., but it seems a spirit of deception is raising it’s head.
I also believe there is a terrible misinterpretation of the verse in John chapter 17 verse 21 Jesus prayed for all humanity at the last supper before he was crucified and asked God: “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” This means he wanted us to be one in the Holy Spirit who would be living in us in the future, as He was living in the presence of God. It did not mean “one world religion”.
I don’t believe the pope is mean, or wishes to harm people, I think in fact he genuinely believes he’s doing right, same goes for Kenneth Copeland. But it is up to us to be VERY AWARE and know what the word says. It is up to us to pay attention.
Another word came to me at night…I think that’s when Holy Spirit likes to speak to mes best….my mind unclutters and something brilliant just sort of pops in. He brought up the Tower of Babel from Genesis in the old Testament. In a nutshell, King Nimrod (yep, that’s where the insult comes from!) had become renowned, idolized, and very powerful. I’d say he was a precursor to the antichrist. ( it’s Genesis Chapter 11 verses 1-9) Especially in verse 6 “The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” Now here’s the thing….God doesn’t mind us doing good things together, but here’s the problem. If one evil person or even a small leading group of evil people unite the world…”then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them”. What it amounted to was unopposed evil. Think for a minute about that….think about the holocaust and the murder of millions upon millions. Hitler was very evil and an entire country was in agreement with him. And it looked like no one was going to stop him. Praise God with His help that terrible, gruesome, monstrous society was stopped! So again, be very aware of the guises of “unity” and where they will lead.
Okay….next part, the geopolitical stuff….funny because I felt inspired to write this just before the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem was opened.
I think the situation in the Middle East is lining up in striking accord with the words of the Bible. Russia, a possible King of the North/Magog from both Revelation and the Book of Daniel, as well as Ezekiel, has aligned itself with Persia, which is now Iran.
Here’s more from John Ankerberg:
Russia took over Crimea, pretty much unopposed, shame on us (not that I invite war), and Putin has even built a bridge from Russia to Crimean area. This seems to be the beginning of carving a path straight down to Israel. The Ukraine (where Crimea was stolen from) was a major supplier of natural gas the Europe. Big money. Now Israel is starting to take on this role with new discoveries off the Mediterranean coast. Perhaps Russia has a beef, perhaps not, but it does draw speculation. Iran has become friends with Russia, even more disturbing considering their anti Israel rhetoric. The Hamas operates out of Lebanon from the North. And Russia has been getting cozy with Turkey which is the former countries of Gomer and Tubal, mentioned in the endtimes wars.
Add to that the highly provocative U.S. embassy in Jerusalem. This historical event, which I for one am very proud of, is no doubt a spark that could set off a real spiral of events…..pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all that love her! Israel finds herself quite surrounded, but on the positive side, some of Israel’s neighbors, because of the increasing boldness if the Iranians have actually said Israel has the right to exist…they would be Saudi Arabia and Jordan, along with a few others. (They have even given Israel access to airspace….they don’t much care for the antics of Iran themselves and Israeli cooperation is currently a blessing for them. Funny, who ever thought 20 years ago the Saudi’s the Jordanians and even Egypt would be even relatively supportive?)
Why waste any more time? If you would like to invite Jesus into your life, say these words out loud:
Dear Lord Jesus, I’m asking you into my heart and my life. I know I am a sinner. I ask your forgiveness for every sin I’ve ever committed. I believe you died on the cross for my sins, that you stood in my place and took all the punishment that was due to me when you were there. I believe that you rose from the dead and are alive. I thank you for forgiving me and cleansing me of sin with your blood. Thank you for making me right with our heavenly Father. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!
